Mainly originating from Colombia, Brazil, Zambia and Zimbabwe. This is also known as the world's most popular green gemstone. It's greenish colour attracts the eyes and gives off a glamorous shine. It is formed when Beryllium, aluminum, silicon and oxygen are found flowing in hydrothermal veins and when they start to cool down, emerald crystals start to form. Emeralds are known to be more rare than diamonds. Did you know that emerald was once used as currency in ancient Egypt? Hence it is no surprise that Egyptians were the first ones to mine them. Even flaws and inclusions in the stone can be of a decent value.

Emerald is a member of the Beryl family. Emerald is known to be 7.5-8 in the Mohs scale. With 10 being the Diamond. The only other gemstones that beat the emerald in scale, are the members of the corundum family, rubies and sapphires. Emeralds could be worn on occasions like your biggest day also known as your wedding day, formal events and parties. They can be matched perfectly with green clothing.
